I have never spoken to her but I have a friend that has. She used to work in a bookstore near St Paul, MN. One thing that my friend likes about her books is her cover art, she really never uses people on her covers. She says it's because she wants the reader to decide what the character looks like or something like that. So she used flowers and such. Well one day my friend was working the register at the bookstore and a lady brings up a few novels to buy. My friend commented on the cover art, saying she liked the cover art because it reminded her of her favorite author, LaVyrle Spencer, and the cover art she uses. My friend hadn't really looked up or paid that much attention to the lady she was helping. When she took her credit card and saw the name LaVyrle Spencer on it she felt like such an idiot. She looked up at her and smiled and didn't know what to say. LaVyrle Spencer just smiled and when the transaction was done she thanked her for her kind words and left.
My daughter's father lives in Stillwater MN and she is with him for the summers so maybe she'll see her there too!
