Hi. I have just completed the fantasy/adventure novel, Ben Brown's Adventure Beyond the Universe - The Return of the Nephilim.

It has 58 pen and ink illustrations.

It will be released in New Zealand in January 2009.

This is going to seem like a truly odd inquiry. When I was little I read a children's book (I would guess it would be K-2 level). It was a picture book and the reading level wasn't too high. I vividly remember the pictures...a little pudgy girl (she wasn't too pretty to look at), she wore a tutu and it detailed her adventures. I THINK her name was Myra (or something similar to that). Hi, I'm new here, so I hope it's OK that I'm already asking a question. There's a children's book that I read a long time ago, about 10 years probably, and I can't remember the title or author. Has anyone else read these books by Brian Jacques? I heard so much about the series on another board I decided to give it a try.

What children's book are you reading? I'm reading The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle. That's a Newbury Winner and I'll be curious to compare it to the first one I read last month, The Story of Doctor Dolittle. In that one the editors had taken out some parts that would be offensive to today's readers. Their reasoning was Hugh Lofting would have been the first to OK changes since he was that kind of person. I've been enjoying this series by Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler). Just finished the 5th book or, as it is officially titled, Book the Fifth The Austere Academy.

The 3 Baudelaire orphans go from one catastrophe to another after the death of their parents, trying to avoid the clutches of the evil Count Olaf who is after their fortune and will stop at nothing to acquire it. The books are amusingly written, with tongue in cheek.

I also like the physical form of the hardbacks....

I didn't want to make this topic... I really didn't. However, someone in one of the other topics suggested that I spent too much time editing "stuff" and not enough time coming up with new ideas.

This is NOT a paid position -- it's something I volunteered to do given the conditions the board was in. It had been unmoderated for over a year and a half -- look what happened. Why did it happen?

if anyone is reading (or has read) the book Sabriel, plz reply to this coz some parts are confusing me and i need then explained.
i've just finnished the trillogy of Lord of the Rings and i really want to read "Unfinished Tales" but i can't find it in any bookstre and my school library wan't order it in so i'd appreciate any info on what happens to the fellowship (and other characters) after "Return of the King".
